About Us
Its 1:30, on a humid 85 degree Sunday in late June 2008 and we are breaking before the start of our 4th game of the tournament. My son Tom and I, along with five other team members are walking across the field to get a sandwich when all the boys detour to a tent selling shafts. All six of the 12 year olds, along with the 8 other players at the tent are expressing their desire, with wild enthusiasm, to have a new shaft. It is not the weight, shape or brand name alone that attracts each of them to their favorite, it is simply the color and graphic designs. At $85.00 each and up, for only the shaft, I swallow hard and tell my son no way do you need yet another shaft that is going to do exactly the same thing as your existing shaft. Knowing kids, you can imagine that was not the last I heard of it.
As I walked and my son slumped away from the tent the idea that would become RapStix was born. Why not develop a product that could be applied to an existing shaft, was affordable enough that players could change designs at will, is durable, easy to apply, easy to remove and came in numerous designs to appeal to every individual players sense of style. So in a nutshell that is how we got here. Over the past two seasons we’ve developed a wonderful following of, simply put, wonderful people.
There have been a lot of developments including ; our custom design feature, MLL and NLL licensing, new web site, Regional Independent Vendor programs, Rewards program and Collegiate licensing. The business is run by my wife Stacy and me along with our three sons Elliot, Kevin and Thomas. During the regular season you can see us all scrambling throughout MA and CT getting to just about every youth event there is or at each of the Boston Canons games and as of 2011 each of the Boston Blazers games. RapStix regional representatives are at events around the country and at most of the MLL and NLL game venues in over 16 cities in 14 states and Canada.
Be sure to stop by and say hello,
Jamie
